Holy crazy post, Batman. I’m not cracking open my computer until Sunday evening (have to prep for an early Monday call) so I’m posting from my phone. I use a Swype keyboard, which allows me to type fast but also enables sloppy autocorrect and typos. Oops!
So, or took us FOREVER to get to our hotel in Natchitoches last night. 1. Wet had to drop off Markus at boarding. 2. BDNF wanted to stop to pick up breakfast instead of reading the convenience food I bought a Kroger for us to just grab out of the cooler. 3. We had to stop at an outlet mall in Alabama because BDNF need to get suit pants, ended up at Jos A Banks, where the very gay and awesome...
Long drive ahead
This morning we’re headed to Natchitoches, LA for my 20th high school reunion. It’s a 9 hour drive and we have to take separate cars since BDNF is coming back on Monday with a load of furniture. And Ruckus and I are going to visit grandparents until Thursday. So, radio silence from this end today. Happy Friday, y’all!
beyondconsulting replied to your photo: This one time, in 2011, I went to Kazakhstan. … Well if you’re doing repeats, you might as well come back to Trinidad… Oh, I hope I do. And if I do I will most certainly let you know so we can run around the park together!
beyondconsulting replied to your post: Today I got street cred Well I guess I wont show you the Team Sky cycling top I bought, WITHOUT even having a road bike yet I don’t know why I have such a chip on my shoulder about kits. I mean, I am totally fine wearing real running gear for running. Why do the superheroesque costumes of cycling bother me so much? I have yet to figure that...

Today I got street cred
I forgot to mention…on my way into work I got acknowledged by a guy out cycling. First time since I started bike commuting on my Trek Navigator in 2008: Then switching over to my mtb in 2010: And by cycling I mean road bike, kit, in the drops. And by acknowledged I mean two fingers raised across his chest. He was flying down the same hill I was powering up. And by...
Bike Ride to work
Today I used my new Nike+ GPS watch. I got a new GPS watch because the strap on my Garmin was falling apart (yes, I realize I can get a new strap AND I will do that) and because the Garmin was way big for cycling. And I wanted one that wouldn’t look too crazy as just a watch. The Nike is still big but it’s nicer looking. It was right at $100 (no foot sensor). However, I think I...
srcdoeslife replied to your post: Sorry - my new phone (Galaxy S4) came in yesterday… i’m interested to hear what you think. i’m familiar with a lot of the issues with the S3, but i’m looking to move forward technologically from my iphone5 I’ll let you know. I should get a good...
Sorry - my new phone (Galaxy S4) came in yesterday and Verizon’s system wasn’t really truly actually ready to activate it so I spent way more time than I should have on the phone with Verizon getting it activated. And that’s where I was yesterday afternoon.
deanaisfindinghergroove replied to your photoset: Today is Ruckus’ last day of 6th grade. 1. Dad… Love your house. Thank you! I love it, too. When I was a kid my aunt and uncle (the ones with the 8 kids) lived in a historic house in New Orleans and whenever we’d visit I would always...
I think it’s getting better. First, I spent several hours working in my front garden yesterday afternoon. All I did was weed, but I weeded the entire front garden in prep for planting some stuff later this week. First, I weeded the flagstone path. The path actually connects to our neighbor-to-the-east’s driveway. When we moved in there was nothing in the front yard but patchy...
Thunder. I rode a metal bike to work. (a look at the radar shows a small cell over the area. hopefully it will be gone by 5:40).
However, your Marines have done a fine, fine job picking up the slack. stuckinrunningmode: Seriously. I’ve serached google images. British Police calender it’s a christmas special! British police pinups ? Handsome British policemen Don’t even ask….
Bike ride to work
It was real nice being back on the bike. Took me right at 36 minutes. Average speed 12mph. This is the fastest yet, though I wasn’t trying to go fast and I was still braking on some downhills. But it’s obvious I am getting more confident. Also, I only had one longish light today. The rest of the lights were green when I got to them. Yay! Mile/Speed 1/13.8 2/12.5 3/13.8 ...
What I did this weekend
By Sabby Nothing. <- seriously. I did nothing. It rained a lot. My second back injury made it so I couldn’t really do anything worth a damn. Friday night I was so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep. I’d already tried ibuprofen and tylenol in somewhat high doses and it hadn’t worked. So, I dug around in our medicine bins and found the Endocet I was Rx’d after...

deanaisfindinghergroove replied to your post: Y’all, in three days, including today, my kid will… I know!! It makes me want to cry. Mine will be a Senior!!! Gaaah! I don’t even want to think about it. I’m going to be you soon. By tomorrow if the current speed of time is any...
Y’all, in three days, including today, my kid will technically be a 7th grader. WTF? He was just born a couple months ago. Kids these days, growing fast and shit. Who do they think they are? Back in my day we had to do the time between birth and age 12. None of this instant pre-teen stuff.
sparrowrunner replied to your post: I still have a knife in my back/chest. Maybe… Oh my gosh, I hope you will be okay. Thanks, I really appreciate that. I’ll be okay. It’s just a weird collection of pulled muscles. It’s hilarious that it started as a bruise from crashing a motorcycle at low speed and then got worse by doing some raking in the yard, and then...
I still have a knife in my back/chest. Maybe it’s better to say I feel like I’ve been impaled with a pipe that got loose out of the back of a truck, bounced off the road, flipped end over end, before piercing my windshield and THUNKing into my chest, pinning me to the driver’s seat. So, last night I took a nearly 12 year old endocet I had from when I gave birth to Ruckus. ...
1. Ran a single mile, as promised. With BDNF. 2. Seriously aggravated my bruised ribs to the point where it now constantly feels like I have a knife lodged in my back, sticking out through my chest. 3. Went to 15th wedding anniversary dinner at Aria, in Buckhead. Fairly fancy, from service to food. 4. I had the most awesome cheesecake ever. It was warm, with a baked outer...
So, I have a long work day ahead of me. I’m participating in a training which is scheduled to go from 8:30am - 5pm. I wanted to get up and run this morning but my new rib injury flared up last night after I did some yard work. I went to bed feeling like I had a knife lodged in my back and this morning it was tender. But, I am going to run a single mile, no matter what, after work and...
Today is my 15th wedding anniversary. I married BDNF at 1pm on May 16, 1998 at the tender age of 23. He was still 22 for another week. Also, yesterday was 4 months since my last drink. I suppose I have two things to celebrate, right? I think we’re going to 4th and Swift for dinner…
beyondconsulting replied to your post: Guy’s, guys, guys…you’re TOTALLY not supposed to… Sorry Jen, the long hair looks AMAZING. Not that you’re not awesome-sauce now too, but that hair… :) Now, I often got that response from men, but there has several problems with that hair. 1. It took 8 years to grow it. 2. Once I started coloring it with henna I had to keep doing it and it was...
Guy’s, guys, guys…you’re TOTALLY not supposed to tell me you like the way I looked better back then (either photo). You’re SUPPOSED to tell me I’ve gotten better with age. Geez, do I have to teach you EVERYTHING? (BTW - I’ve decided to grow my hair into a chin length bob, starting with the last time I got a haircut, which was about two months ago.)
Here’s some photos from this morning’s truck fire party: http://www.ajc.com/gallery/news/truck-fire-blocks-i-85-n/g9hC/#3417606 Looks like the po-po showed up and shut it down before that bitch burnt to the ground. Ruined the fun. (one of the captions says: the truck was hauling 36,000 pounds of chewing gum additives)
davidsgoals replied to your photo: My late lunch. Walnuts, pine nuts, and … “It looks huge but it’s really not.” That’s what she said. You hope that’s not what she said. You HOPE she says, “It’s bigger than it looks.”
